After you go inside, still you are not in an air conditioned room. There would be a standing fan cooling atleast 70 people. Thankfully people are given chair to sit inside. Then you have to shift to the chairs one after the another as your turn nears. You still do not need to arrange your documents. Just keep 2 DD forms filled and original passport ready. There would be a person calling you and he will ask for your priginal passport, 1 photo and DD. My DD cheque did not had the full name. The name on DD was Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany. I told him that ,Mumbai is missing in the DD name. He said it is OK as far it is payable in Mumbai. I took a sigh of relief. But as I had kid I requested them to let me out to have some food for the kid. You can also request them and get out of the gate to have some food and then come again soon early. After my token number was announced, we all 3 went inside and there you get an airconditioned room with 4 counters. I went to counter 4 as it was announced and submitted all the documents. The gorgeous lady validated the document asked few questions. Which city are you going sir? I am going to dusseldorf. What kind of VISA are you applying for? I am applying for work permit. Where are you currently working? I was working with abc company. Oh!! that means you have resigned from the current organisation? Yes I did already. All the documents were submitted successfully. I brought the xerox of work contract submitted to the lady. Then she took fingerprints for me and my wife. She asked to submit the original DD.
